Awards

Each year, the Association presents four major awards in recognition of an individual(s) contribution to the industry. These four awards are bestowed annually to MSMA members of any chapter demonstrating outstanding achievements in the mailing/distribution industry. All award recommendations are sponsored by a member and reviewed and determined by a committee of nationally recognized members in the industry. These awards, presented at the MAILCOM conference are:

 

Cliff Bennett Memorial Education Award

Cliff Bennett

The education and training of mail and distribution systems managers, suppliers and industry professionals continues to be the #1 goal of the MSMA. Our mission is to offer all members opportunities to gain as much industry knowledge as possible through programs sponsored at the local and national levels, including the MAILCOM Conferences.

In sponsorship with MAIL Magazine, MAILCOM and MSMA, we are honored to provide you with information on the Cliff Bennett Memorial Education Award.  During his lifetime, Cliff contributed to the education and professional career development of thousands of Mail and Distribution Managers worldwide. This award, given annually, is a legacy to Cliff's commitment to the professional development of Mail and Distribution Center Managers. Previous award recipients include:

The recipient will be notified by July 31st and the award will be presented during the Fall MAILCOM (October 2-4, 2017) at the Tuscany Suites Hotel in Las Vegas, NV.

Manager of the Year Award

The MANAGER OF THE YEAR AWARD is established by the National Board to recognize any member's outstanding contribution(s) to the profitability of their company and profession. This award takes into consideration accomplishments made by the applicant throughout the past year, but is not limited specifically to that period. Projects can entail years of planning before execution, and all activities leading up to a major accomplishment is to be provided for review. The recipient of this award is recognized by their peers who deem them worthy of being honored for his/her professional accomplishments and for sharing their experiences with others. Any member can make nominations for this award for any other member, by completing the form on reverse side.

For consideration, all applications must be fully completed including a short resume/biography of nominees' accomplishments justifying the recommendation. All nominations should be submitted directly to the National Board of Directors - Awards Committee. The applicant must be a member in good standing with the MSMA, including, but not limited to, the nominee's Chapter complying with National reporting guidelines. Members at Large must be current in dues payment.

Supplier of the Year Award

The SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR AWARD was established by the National Board, in 2014,to recognize a Supplier member's outstanding contribution(s) made within the Industry. This award takes into consideration accomplishments made by the applicant throughout the past year, but is not limited specifically to that period.   The recipient of this award is recognized by their peers who deem them worthy of being honored for his/her professional accomplishments and for sharing their experiences with others. Any member can make nominations for this award for any other member, by completing the form on reverse side.

For consideration, all applications must be fully completed including a short resume/biography of nominees' accomplishments justifying the recommendation. All nominations should be submitted directly to the National Board of Directors - Awards Committee. The applicant must be a member in good standing with the MSMA, including, but not limited to, the nominee's Chapter complying with National reporting guidelines. Distinguished Service Award

The MAIL SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION's Distinguished Service Award is established to annually recognize any member in good standing, who has made significant contributions towards the advancement and enrichment of either their local chapter or the national association.

This award recognizes an individual's extraordinary efforts throughout their alliance with MSMA and should focus on leadership and dedication by encouraging others to share their experience and knowledge. Emphasis for consideration centers on current activities, however, all previous accomplishments will be taken into account. This award will be an appropriate plaque including a lifetime membership in MSMA and is presented at the Annual MAILCOM Conference. It symbolizes a member's unyielding commitment and belief to the advancement of professional Mail Systems Management. Any member can make nominations for this award for any other member.

For consideration, all applications must be fully completed including a short resume/biography of nominees' accomplishments justifying the recommendation. All nominations should be submitted directly to the National Board of Directors - Awards Committee. The applicant must be a member in good standing with the MSMA, including, but not limited to, the nominee's Chapter complying with National reporting guidelines. The Chapter of the Year Award

The Chapter of the Year Award will be presented annually to the Chapter that best upholds the standards and mission statement of MSMA. Qualifications for consideration include: educational programs, network relations, participation in industry activities, timely communications to members, maintaining /sustaining membership and development. The Chapter must be in good standing with the MSMA, including, but not limited to, complying with National reporting guidelines.

Recommendations must be submitted directly to the National Board of Directors for consideration. Attachments must include the chapter's itinerary from January 1, to December 31, previous year, synopsis of meetings, samples of newsletters, and membership list, both current and previous year.
