IT’S YOUR MAIL CENTER, WHAT ELSE CAN YOU DO?

 

Managing and Marketing your Mail Center has never been more challenging! This session will offer tactics and strategies to help you think “outside of the box” and make your College/University Mail Center the “go to” spot on campus.

 

Get real-life examples of tools to use in keeping your costs down, while at the same time offering more services.  Learn the secrets to how you can offer more with the same or less resources and ideas on how to move your mail center to the next level of service and value to your customers.  Discover simple marketing techniques to make sure your campus customers know what you have to offer and how your mail center can meet their ever changing needs.

 

Betsy Shortell is the Director of Harvard University’s Mail and Distribution Services and In Plant Print and Mail Departments. She has been in this position for 8 years. She has over 25 years of management experience and has been at Harvard University for 14 years. She is an active member in the MSMA New England and recently became the Chapter President. She is also the Industry Co-Chair of the Greater Boston PCC. Betsy has presented at the National Postal Forum, MailCom, ACUMS and NACUMS conferences. She holds industry certifications of MDP, MDC, EMCM and CMDSM. She is the recipient of the Cliff Bennett Memorial Education Award (CBME) 2014. Betsy received her Master’s degree in Management at Harvard University.

 

Patrick Ring was with the United States Postal Service for over 39 years. He served in varying positions from letter carrier, clerk, and Postmaster to Manager in Processing and Delivery Operations. Mr. Ring finished his career as the Marketing Manager for the Boston District. Upon retiring Ring became the Associate Director Mail Services at Boston University, overseeing the mail service for the BU Medical School and Boston Medical Center campuses.A long time speaker at the NPF’s Mail Center Management Track and at National Association of College and University Mail Services events, Ring is a member of the Greater Boston Postal Customer Council, a NACUMS Member and was a founder and advisor for the Executive Mail Center Manager Program.
