Professional Mail Certification Workshop

Presented by the San Diego MSMA Chapter and the San Diego PCC

It's time to invest in your careers. San Diego PCC and MSMA are hosting a one-day professional certification workshop. Conference attendees will be eligible to earn the Mail Design Professional (MDP) Certiﬁcation from the United States Postal Service and the Mail Design Consultant (MDC) Certiﬁcation from MSMA. Gordon Glazer, Director of Modal Optimization Strategies for Shipware, LLC, will again conduct the conference with the assistance of USPS ofﬁcials.

This conference combines the information needed to understand how to do Automation Mail while including a thorough review of mail types and classes along with extra services. The conference is designed to shorten the training cycle for those wishing to earn their MDC and MDP certiﬁcations. It explores the latest rule changes along with basic and advanced requirements. The goal is to explain the why along with the rules to give you a better understanding of mail. Most important, it is designed to help you avoid common mistakes and pitfalls along with tips to improve the performance of your mailings.

Mail Piece Design Consultant (MDC) - MSMA offers the MDC certiﬁcation designation. The MDC test is an open-book, pass/fail, online exam focusing on the mailing and shipping industry. With successful completion, applicants will receive this valuable designation and certiﬁcate.

Mail Piece Design Professional (MDP) - The USPS offers the MDP certiﬁcation designation. The MDP is the only mailpiece design certiﬁcation program approved by the U.S. Postal Service. This online course is ideal for those who wish to maximize their proﬁciency in designing letter-size and ﬂat-size mail to meet USPS® standards and obtain certiﬁcation as a Mailpiece Design Professional.

About the instructor: Gordon Glazer is the Director of Modal Optimization Strategies for Shipware LLC. For 26 years Gordon founded and led San Diego Postal and Shipping and Shipping Equipment. Mr. Glazer is a nationally recognized expert in Document Handling, Addressing, Mail Center Design and Mail Processing Systems. He is currently only one of a handful of vendors to earn the CMDSM certiﬁcation and is MDC, MDP and CMDSS certiﬁed. Currently the VP of Events for the San Diego MSMA chapter, Gordon was awarded MSMA National's Vendor of the Year Award in 2014. Gordon is one of the principal authors of the MDC, CMDSM (rewrite) and CMDSS Certiﬁcations. A popular speaker at NPF, Mailcom, PCC, MSMA and NACUMS, he is a graduate of San Diego State University with a BS degree in Business Administration (Marketing).
